The premiere of the setting of the Christina Rossetti poem, “A Birthday,” for soprano and woodwind trio is scheduled for April, 2022, on a Women in Music-Columbus concert in Westerville, Ohio. Performers are: Jessica Kahn, soprano, Sarah Luckay, flute, Joy Norris, clarinet, and Alan Ray, bassoon.
Anna’s Song Performance
Anna’s Song (Soprano/Piano) was performed at the 2014 annual conference of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC) at a concert on October 10, 2014,at 10:30 a.m., at BIOLA University, La Mirada, CA. The soprano was Elizabeth Sywulka.
Autumn
Autumn (poetry of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow) for SSAATB a cappella choir was premiered on November 21, 2010 at the 2010 Fall Concert of the Otterbein University Concert Choir under the direction of Gayle Walker. The Concert Choir toured China, November 29 through December 10, 2010. Autumn was a part of the tour program.
Bird Raptures (Soprano/Solo Flute)
“Bird Raptures” (poetry by Christina Rossetti) for soprano and solo flute was premiered at the Society of Composers Inc. (SCI) Region III Conference at Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Virginia, March 24, 2018. Performers were Rachel Holland, soprano, and Patti Watters, flute. Dr. Cheryl Coker performed the work on her faculty recital at Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi, on February 1, 2019. Dr. Coker, soprano, was joined by Gayle Entredin on flute. At the National Association of Music Teachers (NATS), Southern Region meeting at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas, in early November, 2019, Dr. Coker repeated the work, this time with flutist, Tara Schwab. The positive response of students and teachers at the recital resulted in a link to my website being posted on the NATS Southern Region web site through the end of this year. Dr. Coker also confirmed that she would be singing “Bird Raptures” for the fourth annual International Festival of Music by Women at Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, Mississippi, in March, 2020.

Celebration 25! (1995) by Jerry Casey won the Composers Concordance competition for composers 70 or older. It was performed at the Performing Center of St. Sava Cathedral on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. See below for more details of the performance. This article appeared in the New York Times.
Composers Concordance (Tuesday) This enterprising new-music organization presents the ensemble Circadia, a woodwind, string and piano quintet, in a program that includes works by Derek Bermel, Louis Calabro, Dan Cooper, Joseph Pehrson and Gene Pritsker. The program, called “Generations,” will also include works by the winners of two Composers Concordance competitions: one for a composer 20 or under, the other for a composer 70 or over. CFAMC 2020 Virtual Conference
The Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC) 2020 Virtual Conference was held October 17, 2020. My works presented for this conference were Suite for Brass and Percussion,(Amy Baker and Tom McKay, trumpets, Helen Doerring and Vivian Baker, horns, and Linda Dauwlder-Dachtyl, percussion); “You Speak of Color” (Tenor and solo Cello) from Seven Signs (A Song Cycle for Seven Singers and Seven Instrumentalists) a MIDI realization; and “Life and Love” from Three Love Songs (Rebecca Keck, soprano and Eileen Huston, piano).

The regional conference of Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC) held on November 5, 2011,
at Nyack College, Nyack, New York, featured three of Jerry Casey’s works, Mine Were the Hands for voice and piano, recording of Prelude from Seven (A Suite for Orchestra) paired with the photograph, “Forest Light” (Paul Kiler), and the hymn tune Circle of Thorn (hymnody of Richard Leach).
Choral Work Performed at Malone University, Canton, Ohio
Autumn, a choral work for SSAATB a cappella, was performed by a select choir for the 2015 Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers Annual Conference which was held at Malone University, in Canton, Ohio, in October, 2015. The choir was under the direction of Dr. Jon Peterson.
